Transmeridian losses deepen in 2006

Houston-based Transmeridian Exploration saw losses deepen in 2006 as it sought to boost production from its Kazakhstan assets.

The company saw a net loss of $54.3 million, up from a net loss of $21.6 million in 2005. Losses per share hit $0.58 per share from $0.26 per share in 2005.

Over the same period, Transmeridian saw revenue rise to $24.7 million from $21.6 million previously.
