Cossack Pioneer rides again

By Upstream staff

Australian independent oil and gas producer Woodside Petroleum said today it expects to restart production at the 100,000 barrels per day Cossack field off Western Australia over the weekend.

A spokesman from Woodside said the Cossack Pioneer production vessel was expected to be back on site on Saturday and resume production at the field in the next two days, Reuters said.

Tropical Cyclone Kara, a category-three storm, has forced the shut in of Woodside's Cossack Pioneer and its 7000 bpd Legendre fields since Sunday.
