The drilling programme at Wirraway-1 had been delayed after a prolonged period of weather-related access issues but the Hunt Rig-3 was now at location, with the well due to spud in the next few days, Victoria said.
Wirraway-1 will be drilled to a depth of 1991 metres to test a large four-way dip closed structure of 22 square kilometres on the western margin of the Cooper basin.
Victoria is the operator at Wirraway-1 and PEL 104 with a 40% working interest. Its joint venture partners are Impress Energy (40%) and Roma Petroleum (20%).
