Strong returns:Crux-2 results are better than expected for Nexus
Crux delivers bonus for Nexus
Australia’s Nexus Energy said today it had hit a larger than predicted gas pay at its Crux-2 appraisal well in the Browse basin, off Western Australia.
A gross gas column of 158 metres was intersected, yielding a net gas pay zone of 102 metres, well in excess of pre-drill expectations, Nexus said.
The results confirm the extension of the high quality sands seen in the Crux-1 well and increases confidence in resource volumes, the company said.
Nexus will now complete electric wireline logging and down-hole gas sampling at Crux-2 to determine the condensate/as ratio, after which it will case the well and suspend it as a future Crix liquids project injection well.
Nexus holds a 100% working interest in Crux-2.
