Pemex blast: Search for answers still under way

Pemex said the death toll has risen to 36 in a still-unexplained explosion that rocked its Mexico City headquarters on Thursday.

According to a Reuters report on Monday, rescue workers had been digging through the last sections of the building's basement and could soon call off their search.

One person, a woman understood to have worked as a secretary, was still missing but was unlikely to be found so deep in the wreckage, the news wire said.

The Mexican state oil company said on Sunday that director Emilio Lozoya Austin met with Mexico's attorney general Jesus Murillo and energy ministry chief Pedro Joaquin Coldwell.
