Mediterranean primed for Italian job

By Upstream staff

Mediterranean Oil & Gas is set to to spud the Cupoloni 2 DIR A well, in Italy next week, adding it will target newly identified updip gas sand levels in the Cupoloni gas field.

The resource estimate for the updip portion of the gas field has increased with the new best estimate gas initially in place at 292 million cubic metres, best estimate contingent gas resources at 160 million cubic metres and high estimate contingent at 204 million cubic metres after a recent re-interpretation of the available seismic dataset of the field, Mediterranean said.

It added it has identified two similar untested structures close to the gas field which is estimated to hold best estimate gas initially in place of 192 million cubic metres and 269 million cubic metres.
