Mediterranean ties up Eni rig
Mediterranean Oil & Gas has signed a deal with Italian giant Eni which
will see an Eni rig get to work on the Ombrina Mare find and the Monte
Grosso oil prospect.
An Eni-contracted jack-up rig will be be mobilised by end of the year, with
drilling of the Ombrina Mare-2 appraisal well to commence next January, the
company said.
Chief executive Giovanni Catalano said the economic potential of the Ombrina
Mare oil and gas field, off the Adriatic Coast, has made its appraisal and
development a high priority for the company.
The Monte Grosso well is expected to spud next quarter, it said.
