Norway’s SeaBird Exploration announced today a 216% year-on-year increase in consolidated first-quarter revenues at $23.2 million, a performance the company put down to a strengthening of its seismic markets.
Net income for the first quarter of 2007 increased 117% over the comparable quarter in 2006, to $5 million SeaBird said.
Seabird said that substantially better seismic rates, combined with the commencing of operations for its Hawk Explorer and Osprey Explorer vessels, contributed to the improvements from first-quarter 2006.
The company added it would continue its focus on the conversion of five vessels, bringing the total number of planned vessels in operation to ten by the end of 2007.
