J Ray yard set to receive big slice of work on Woodside plant

Batam in Pluto orbit

By Upstream staff

J Ray McDermott's Indonesian operation is standing by to receive the lion's share of the fabrication for the Pluto liquefied natural gas processing plant for Australia's Woodside Petroleum.

The US marine and construction giant is likely to be awarded about 70% of the pre-assembled modules for the project.

The other 30% is destined for a smaller yard in Thailand, most likely the Sino-Thai Group, said sources.

The large and more complex modules will be built by McDermott, while the smaller units will be passed to the Thai yard, said sources.
