Solana puts Costayaco-1 to the test

By Upstream staff

Solana Resources has completed drill stem tests on the first three zones at the Costayaco-1, drilled on the Chaza Block in southern Colombia.

The company said to date the well has tested a combined 635 cubic metres of oil equivalent per day from 32.6 metres of perforations.

Initial log interpretations, combined with hydrocarbon shows hit during drilling, indicate reservoir quality sandstones with potential oil pay in these zones, Solana said.

These zones are also productive in the nearby Santana Block, as well as in the recently tested Solana/Gran Tierra Juanambu-1 well on the neighbouring Guayuyaco Block, the company added.
