Avery to begin Queensland farm-in

By Upstream staff

Australia’s Bow Energy has confirmed that Avery Resources will be exercising its option to drill the first of three farm-in oil exploration wells in the Barta and Wompi blocks of ATP 752P in Queensland's Cooper-Eromanga Basin.

The Hudson-1 farm-in well is located between the Cook and James oilfields and has multiple reservoir target zones, Bow said.

It is expected that the well will spud in late August or early September, using the Ensign Rig 30.

Avery has options to drill two further wells in the permit prior to 31 January 2008.

Once all the drilling options have need exercised, Avery will hold a 50% interest in ATP 752P, alongside operator Bow (25%) and Victoria Petroleum (25%).
