Exploration road: Australia's Surat basin
Rawson bags Surat permit
Australian junior Rawson Resources has won a new exploration permit in Queensland's Surat basin in partnership with Energetica Resources.
Permit 837P covers an area of 517 square kilometres and is highly prospective for oil and gas and has coalbed methane potential, Rawson said.
The agreed work programme consists of 200 square kilometres of 3D seismic in the second year and the drilling of four wells in the third an fourth years of the 12-year permit term.
Rawson and Energetica will each hold a 50% stake in the permit.
