Stuart prepares to spud big six

By Upstream staff

Australia’s Stuart Petroleum said today it was ready to begin its six-well 2007 Cooper-Eromanga basin drilling programme.

The programme will comprise six wells, including Stuart’s 100%-owned Doriemus-1 exploration well in PEL 102 that is expected to spud on 15 July.

Other wells include the 70% Stuart development wells Worrior-5 and Worrior-6 in PPL 207 and Stuart’s 66.7%-owned Comic-1 exploration well in PEL 113, all of which are scheduled to be drilled in mid to late July.

The other wells in the programme are the Cleansweep-1 in PEL 100 and Rainbird 1 in PEL 93, in which Stuart has a 50% and 36% interest, respectively. Both wells are expected to spud during August.
