DNO adds to Yemen assets

By Upstream staff

Norway’s DNO said today it had completed a farm-in agreement that will give it a 57.78% operating interest in Block 52, Yemen.

Block 52 is in the Sayun-Masila Basin, close to DNO's existing licence interests in Yemen.

The farm-in is based on a work program commitment consisting of seismic data acquisition and the drilling of exploration wells, DNO said.

Following the farm-in, the license partners in Block 52 are DNO (57.78%), Ansan Wifks (22.22%) and The Yemen Company (20% carried).

DNO also said it had drilled its Godah-7 development well in its Yemen Block 32 to a total measured depth of 2386 metres and subsequently plugged back and completed the well as an oil producer.

Godah-7 is currently producing 438 barrels of oil per day and 7 barrels per day of water from a four-metre interval.
