Australia’s Stuart Petroleum said it will begin its 2007 development drilling programme at the Worrior oilfield in South Australia’s Cooper basin by the middle of next week.
Stuart said it will begin spudding of the Worrior 5 well on or about 8 August.
The well is a follow up to the Worrior 4 development/appraisal well drilled in March last year.
Worrior 5 will be drilled about 200 metres north of Worrior 2, targeting the Murta nd Birkenhead formations.
Stuart will have a 70% operating stake in the well, with Cooper Energy holding the remaining 30%.
