Cleansweep oil shows for Stuart

By Upstream staff

Australia’s Stuart Petroleum said today it had made oil shows at the Cleansweep-1 exploration well in PEL 100 of the Cooper-Eromanga basin.

The oil shows were observed in the Birkenhead formation over an interval between 2128 and 2133.5 metres, Stuart said.

Current operations are preparing to run a drill stem test over the interval.

Cleansweep-1 is targeting in-risked mean oil in place potential of 4.8 million barrels.

Stuart is paying 100% of the cost of the well to obtain a 50% interest in the permit.

The co-venturers at PEL 100 are Sundance Energy (23.333%), Cooper Energy (19.167%), Eneterprise Energy (5%) and Liberty Petroleum(2.5%).
