Mugello bottoms out in Colombia
By Upstream staff
The Mugello-1 exploration well on the Chicuaco Block in Colombia has reached a total depth of 4781 feet and unveiled hydrocarbon shows in the main target.
“Based on preliminary mudlog information, hydrocarbon shows were encountered in several sands in the Carbonera formation,” Australian-listed joint venture partner Baraka Petroleum said.
Wireline logging operations are underway and further activities will depend on the analysis of these logs with mudlog and other data.
Omega operates the Chicuaco block with a 63% stake on behalf of partners Baraka (20%), Trayectoria Oil & Gas (10%) and TC Oil & Services (7%).
