Australian coalbed methane (CBM) producer Queensland Gas Company (QGC) reported that the Connor-1 and Codie-7 appraisal wells have unveiled a combined 53.6 metres of coal pay.
The Connor-1 well which lies in permit ATP 632P in Queensland reached a total depth of 849.93 metres after hitting 31.3 metres of coal in the Juandah and Taroom coal measures, plus Tangalooma sandstone.
QGC said that it will run three drill stem tests after wireline logging to evaluate the coal measures.
QGC holds an 80% interest in ATP 632P with partner BG on 20%.
The Codie-7 probe which lies in permit ATP 620P in Queensland reached a total depth of 839.92 metres after uncovering 22.3 metres of coal in the Juandah and Taroom coal measures, plus Tangalooma sandstone.
QGC holds a 47.5% interest in ATP 620P, with BG on 11.875% and Origin Energy on 40.625%.
