Australia's petroleum safety watchdog: NOPSA.
New chief for NOPSA
Canberra has appointed a new chief to head up National Offshore Petroleum Safety Authority amid the salvage operations on the oil leak from the Montara field.
Jane Cutler, a 27-year veteran in the petroleum and finance sector will take over the baton from acting chief executive, Simon Schubach.
Cutler was last holding a senior position at Woodside Energy.
Schubach will continue to play a leading role in the response until the leaking well is shut in, safe and normal operations at Montara are resumed, and NOPSA’s investigation of the incident is complete.
NOPSA will also see a new addition among its board members. Kym Bills will join NOPSA after having recently completed an appointment as an expert panel member for the Inquiry into Offshore Petroleum Safety Regulation.
