Jurong Shipyard: one more floater job for Singapore-based yard operator.
Jurong bags P62 gig
SembCorp Marine’s subsidiary Jurong Shipyard has won a S$130 million (US$93 million) contract for pre-conversion work on a floater designated to work in Petrobras’ Roncador field off Brazil.
The floating production, storage offloading vessel to be named P62 will be converted from a very large crude carrier, MT Suva.
Jurong’s scope of work includes hull steel renewal, fabrication and installation of new steel work, blasting and painting works, renewal, fabrication and installation of piping, supply of new equipment and refurbishment. Work is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2011.
P62 will be capable of processing more than 180,000 barrels per day of oil, injecting more than 250,000 barrels per day of water, producing 6 million cubic metres of gas and store up to 1.6 million barrels of oil.
The floater will be installed in about 1600 metres of water in the Roncador field, where it is expected to work for up to 25 years without drydocking.
