Optime wins Nautilus contract

Company to supply hyperbaric testing system

Subsea technology company Optime Subsea has been awarded a contract to supply a hyperbaric testing system to Germany’s Nautilus Marine Service.

The 19,000-psi hyperbaric pressure vessel will be built in Notodden, Norway, and be able to stimulate hydrostatic pressures found at water depths up to 13,000 metres.

“The system enables us to increase the efficiencies of our testing with little impact on the system lifetime, making this an investment that will provide increased value for our customers immediately and increased returns for us within a short period of time,” Nautilus managing director Steffen Pausch said.

“With this system delivered, we are also considering including external testing offerings, which would support the region’s different manufacturing disciplines and industries in increased testing capabilities where deep water tests and simulations are necessary.”

The companies did not disclose the contract value, but did reveal the system was set be delivered and installed at Nautilus’ newly upgraded facility in the third quarter of the year.
