FPSO preparing for demob in Malaysia

FPSO Perisai Kamelia to be replaced at North Malay basin project

The owners of the floating production, storage and offloading vessel Perisai Kamelia are making arrangements for the FPSO's demobilisation from Malaysia's North Malay basin.

Perisai Petroleum and Emas Offshore - the joint venture owners of the floater - have entered into an agreement with Emas Offshore Construction and Production worth US$545,319 for the provision of project management, engineering and project support services for the demobilisation of the vessel, according to Perisai.

The FPSO is understood to be located on Hess' North Malay basin project and is being replaced by a full-field floating storage and offloading vessel.

Perisai did not disclose when the FPSO will be released, saying only that the vessel will be mobilised to a designated layup location.

According to Emas' latest results, the floater was on firm charter until May 2017, with potential of up to 12-month extensions.
