Oilfield pair in Cambay well studies

Oilex seeking to stimulate commercial flow rates from gas field onshore India

Oilex has enlisted oilfield service players Schlumberger and Baker Hughes to carry out well stimulation work to boost commercial flow rates from its Cambay gas field onshore Gujarat, India.

Each of the contractors will carry out studies lasting about three months based on core analysis from the Cambay-23z well as part of an effort by the Australian-listed operator to stimulate flows from the EP-IV tight gas reservoir and optimise well planning at the field.

Oilex managing director Joe Salomon said the contractors’ assistance “is important to unlocking the commercial success of the large gas resource” at Cambay.
