Siem gains vessel charters

Norwegian shipowner secures raft of deals for worldwide work

Oslo-listed Siem Offshore has secured a raft of contracts for several of its offshore support vessels.

A pair of anchor-handling tug supply vessels, Siem Aquamarine and Siem Topaz, have been taken by BHP Billiton to support operations off the west coast of Australia under a firm 240-day deal.

Two other AHTSs, Siem Garnet and Siem Sapphire, are being employed by Russia’s Gazprom to support work on the Sakhalin project in the Russian far east for a firm 440-day period.

Siem has also gained charters for a pair of platform supply vessels, Siem Louisa and Siem Sasha, that will work on a firm 290-day contract with an undisclosed client off West Africa.

Meanwhile, a pair of construction support vessels, Siem Marlin and Siem Spearfish, have started work on, respectively, a 150-day contract off South America and a 100-day charter in the Black Sea.

No values were disclosed for the deals, which Siem said underpin its strategy of extending its global activities.
