Agreement sees US giant team up with Trendsetter and Oil Spill Response Ltd on well-capping response

Halliburton has signed a memorandum of understanding with Trendsetter Engineering and Oil Spill Response Ltd (OSRL) for the provision of subsea well-capping response solutions.

The UK oilfield services giant, Trendsetter and the industry-funded group OSRL signed the agreement to create “a strategic alliance for oil and gas exploration and production companies globally,” OSRL said.

The MoU covers “integrated solutions for preparedness and response associated with subsea well control activities”.

“The new agreement further enhances the policies and procedures previously established through the Global Industry Response Group (GIRG), and adopted by the Subsea Well Response Project (SWRP) consortium, by establishing an integrated, best-practice approach to managing subsea-well control incidents around the world,” OSRL said.

Halliburton – through unit Boots and Coots – and Trendsetter will provide access to trained and rapidly deployable response personnel as well as other services.
