Archer wins Ekofisk extension

Extension: for Archer on Ekofisk

Archer has secured an extension of its platform drilling services contract with ConocoPhillips for the US operator’s Greater Ekofisk Area project off Norway.

The Oslo-listed oilfield services outfit will continue working at the field until 2020 after ConocoPhillips exercised an option to extend the existing contract, due to expire in 2015, for a further five years.

No value was disclosed for the extended deal.

Archer, which is majority owned by John Fredriksen-backed rig giant Seadrill, currently operates drilling work on all the Greater Ekofisk platforms.
