India’s ONGC Videsh has signed on the dotted line to gain its two onshore blocks awarded under Myanmar’s onshore round.
The New Delhi-headquartered international exploration arm of India’s Oil and Natural Gas Corporation has now signed production sharing contracts for two onland exploration blocks B-2 & EP-3 at a ceremony in the country's new capital Nay Pyi Taw.
Several other winners from the round that were initially announced last October also signed contracts in recent days, including Italy’s Eni and Thailand’s PTTEP.
ONGC Videsh is already a partner in Myanmar’s A-1 & A-3 offshore blocks and Shwe gas pipeline.
The Daewoo International-operated Shwe project saw first gas in July 2013.
