CIMC delivers jack-up

Ready for action: the jack-up Coastal Driller 4001

Chinese yard CIMC Raffles has delivered a jack-up drilling rig built to the JUE2000E design to Malaysia-listed Coastal Contracts, the ninth of its kind the yard has delivered so far.

Coastal Driller 4001 is built to operate in water depths of up to 122 metres and is capable of drilling to a depth of 10,668 metres. Classed by ABS, the rig is able to accommodate 140 people.

The drilling equipment package is provided by Norway’s Aker MH.

It is the first of three such rigs CIMC Raffles delivered to Coastal Contracts. The rest will be delivered next year.

Established in 1976, Coastal Contracts is a marine service provider in Malaysia covering shipping, ship chartering, repair, maintenance and trading of marine support vessels.
