FMC gains Petrobras subsea order

Subsea score: FMC sees option exercised for manifolds

Houston’s FMC Technologies has seen Brazilian oil giant Petrobras take up an option for five subsea manifolds.

The subsea technology specialist announced last September that the Rio de Janeiro-headquartered oil player had ordered 11 such manifolds for its Santos basin pre-salt fields, with an option for another five.

FMC Technologies said that Petrobras had now taken up the balance of the order, for which all 16 manifolds had been valued at $650 million.

Engineered and manufactured in Brazil, the subsea manifolds are scheduled for delivery beginning in 2015.

Taken with three manifolds ordered separately last year, FMC Technologies is providing 19 subsea manifolds altogether for Petrobras' pre-salt fields.
