Italian energy group Eni said today it has successfully drilled two new exploration wells on Tunisia's Adam concession and the Bordj el Kadra permit.

Eni said the Karma 1 well on the Adam concession was drilled to a total depth of 3617 metres and production tests have showed an overall capacity of more than 4000 barrels per day of oil. Eni is the operator of the Adam concession and is partnered by Tunisian state company Etap, Pioneer Natural Resources and Talisman Resources.

Eni also said that the Nakhil 1 well on the Bordj el Kadra permit was drilled to a total depth of 3929 metres and production tests confirmed the presence of good quality oil.

The well is now on stream with a production of 1200 bpd.
