By Upstream staff

Kerr-McGee has appointed David Hager the company's chief operating officer, as part of the board's succession planning and management development.

Hager joined the Oklahoma City-based outfit as vice president of Gulf of Mexico operations following the company's 1999 merger with Oryx.

Most recently he served as senior vice president responsible for oil and gas exploration and production.

In this new position, Hager will continue to lead the company's worldwide exploration and production business.

The company has also named Richard Buterbaugh vice president of corporate planning, Al Harris vice president and chief information officer, and Charles Meloy vice president of exploration and production.
