ONGC shifting hurt platform

India's Oil & Natural Gas Corporation has invited contractors to help it remove the platform at the B-121 field off the west coast and reinstall it about one kilometre away.

B-121 is a marginal field in the 'Mumbai Offshore' area that was producing through six wells until a blowout brought production to a halt.

ONGC wants to get the field up and running again by reusing the platform's jacket, which was not damaged in the blowout. The deck was ruined. ONGC said on its tender document a large crater had been formed under the mud mats.

The operator is seeking expressions of interest from contractors to remove and reinstall the jacket, modify the jacket for deck installation with associated facilities, and hook-up to existing B-121 wells. Water depth at the location is 75 metres.

Companies are invited to participate in the proposed expression of interest meeting on 16 November at 7th Floor, Conference Room, Vasudhara Bhavan, Bandra (East), Mumbai
