Victoria starts Mirage development

By Upstream staff

Australia’s Victoria Petroleum is set to drill the first of three development wells on its onshore Mirage oilfield in the Cooper basin, South Australia.

The Mirage-2 well is located about 580 metres north-east of the Mirage-1 discovery well that is currently flowing 440 barrels of oil per day.

Victoria said that should the programme be successful, it expects production at the field to increase to about 1000 bpd.

Participants in PEL 115 are operator Victoria (40%), Impress Ventures (40%) and Roma Petroleum (20%).
