Cooper Energy has secured the Ensign work-over rig 5 to carry out cased hole production tests on the Fairbridge-1 well in the onshore Cooper basin, South Australia.
The tests are scheduled to start on 17 May and should take less than two weeks to complete.
The company had drilled the well in January this year and had found evidence that the Birkhead formation target had enough potential to warrant testing.
However, Cooper had problems with the open-hole production test and decided to case the well and suspend it for future testing.
Participants in Fairbridge-1 are Cooper (38.33%), Sundance Energy (46.67%), Enterprise Energy (10%) and Liberty Petroleum (5%).
