Cazalot crowned director

Oilfield services provider Baker Hughes has nominated Clarence Cazalot for election as a class II director and has elected James Lash as a class III director effective 24 April 2002.

Cazalot, president, chief executive and a director of Marathon Oil, has been nominated for the position being vacated by Joseph Casey, retired vice chairman and chief financial officer of Western Atlas.

Lash, chairman of Manchester Principal LLC, has been elected to the position being vacated by Victor Beghini, retired vice chairman, Marathon Group, USX Corporation and retired president, Marathon Oil.

Casey and Beghini and Eunice Filter, retired vice president and secretary of Xerox Corporation, announced their intent to resign from the board effective at the 24 April 2002 annual meeting of stockholders.
