Australia’s Victoria Petroleum has spudded the second of three development wells on its onshore Mirage oilfield in the Cooper basin, South Australia.
The Mirage-3 well targets the Murta oil sands at a depth of about 1316 metres.
The company had flowed 440 barrels of oil per day from this formation in the original discovery well and has cased the first development well as a potential producer after finding oil shows in the Murta formation.
Participants in PEL 115 are operator Victoria (40%), Impress Ventures (40%) and Roma Petroleum (20%).
