Woodside restarts Cossack fields

By Upstream staff

Woodside Petroleum has resumed production from its Wanaea-Cossack Lambert-Hermes oilfields complex off Western Australia after it was shut-in as a precaution against an approaching cyclone.

Output from the Cossack Pioneer, which normally produces about 100,000 barrels of oil per day, was suspended on Sunday as Cyclone Emma approached.

Woodside said that the cyclone caused no damage, reported Reuters.

Emma was a category-one cyclone with winds around 100 kilometres per hour but was downgraded by the Australian Bureau of Meteorology after hitting Australia’s western coast.
