Another Mirage strike for Victoria

By Upstream staff

Australia’s Victoria Petroleum has flowed oil from its onshore Mirage-3 well in South Australia’s Cooper basin.

The well, the second of three development wells, flowed at a rate of about 324 barrels of oil per day during an open hole drill stem test in the Murta formation.

The company had flowed 440 barrels of oil per day from this formation in the original discovery well and has cased the first development well as a potential producer after finding oil shows in the Murta formation.

Participants in PEL 115 are operator Victoria (40%), Impress Ventures (40%) and Roma Petroleum (20%).
