Victoria extends Mirage oilfield

By Upstream staff

Australia’s Victoria Petroleum is completing the Mirage-3 well for production after it confirmed a northern extension of the Mirage field in South Australia.

Company managing director John Kopcheff said: “The results are in line with our expectations.”

The well, the second of three development wells, had flowed at a rate of about 324 barrels of oil per day during an open hole drill stem test in the Murta formation.

Participants in PEL 115 are operator Victoria (40%), Impress Ventures (40%) and Roma Petroleum (20%).
