UK junior Taghmen Energy has said that new data had indicated that the Casas-3X well is located in a separate fault block from its two other wells in the Peten basin, Guatemala.
It said that preliminary interpretation of new seismic data completed in April 2006 and pressure data indicated that the results of the 3X well would not have any effect on the viability of the 1X sidetrack.
The 3X well in licence 6-93 has been producing about 170 barrels of oil per day with an daily average water cut of 36.5% swabbing operations.
Taghmen said that that it would continue to swab test the upper zone of the 3X well until the service rig is required at Tortugas at which time pressure recorders will be run to acquire the bottom hole pressure. This data will be used to plan the further development of the well.
