SBM boosts its forecast

By Upstream staff

Dutch maritime engineering group SBM Offshore raised its net income forecast to $185 million for this year from previously expected $165 million, the company said today.

It attributed the expected higher net income to recently signed major contract awards, better than expected revenues from its floating production and storage platforms for oil companies and lower net interest expenses.

SBM said in a statement it will provide a more detailed update of its 2006 outlook when it reports its half-year results.
