Flotek tools up

Houston's Flotek Industries is taking over fellow US services outfit LifTech in a $5.2 million cash-and-stock deal.

LifTech markets and services electric submersible pumps mainly to coal bed methane gas producers in the Powder River basin.

Flotek boss Jerry Dumas said: "The acquisition of LifTech and Total Well Solutions, acquired in April 2006, executes our goal to develop a significant artificial lift segment."
