Setting sail: for Oudna, off Tunisia
Oudna taps ready to flow
China's Sinochem and Swedish explorer Lundin Petroleum will bring the Oudna field, off Tunisia, on stream soon, with initial output expected to be 20,000 barrels per day, Sinochem said today.
Reuters quoted a Sinopec source as saying Oudna would start flowing oil in August or September. No one at Lundin was immediately available for comment.
Oudna's crude is light and sweet, with an API gravity of 41.5 degrees and a sulphur content of 0.24%.
Sinochem and Lundin are equal partner in the field, with Lundin acting as operator.
Sinochem acquired its stake in the Oudna field when it bought Norwegian company Atlantis in February 2003.
Lundin acquired its stake in the field when it bought Coparex International in 2002.
