Norwegian driller Songa Offshore said Santos had exercised an option to extend its contract for the semi-submersible rig Songs Offshore, operating on the Carnarvon basin off Australia.
The
company
said
Santos
had
exercised
a
second
six-month
option
to
use
the
rig
from
July
2008
through
to
January
2009
at
a
dayrate
of
$400,000.
Santos
has
one
further
six-month
option
remaining
for
the
rig.
The
Songa
Mercur
is
capable
of
working
in
water
depths
of
up
to
1200
feet.
