Sedco 601: moving to drill other wells for Santos
Santos keeps Jeruk well for later
Santos has suspended its Jeruk-3 appraisal well at the Sampang production sharing contract off Indonesia as a future oil producer.
The company said that a test of the bottom hole section of the well flowed water, confirming the interpreted location of the oil-water contact at about 4760 metres.
The semi-submersible Sedco 601 will now move on to drill other Santos wells.
Results from Jeruk-3 had led Santos to say that the most likely contingent resource to less than the 170 million barrels of oil previously provided to the market in January 2005.
The Jeruk project partners are operator Santos, Singapore Petroleum, Cue Energy, Medco Energi, and PT Petrogas Oyong Jatim.
