Worker dies at Petrocedeno oil project

A worker died at Venezuela's PetroCedeno heavy oil project in an accident that did not affect operations, state oil company PDVSA said.

The worker fell out of bulldozer while moving coke ash, a byproduct of upgrading tar-like Orinoco oil into lighter synthetic crude.

Petrocedeno is a joint venture between state oil company PDVSA, France's Total and Norway's StatoilHydro, said a Reuters report.

Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez last year nationalised four heavy oil upgrading projects in the Orinoco oil belt.
