KazMunaiGaz pumps up volume

By Upstream staff

Kazakhstan's state-run player KazMunaiGaz saw its oil output in the first seven months of 2006 rise to 5.5 million tonnes (40 million barrels), an increase of 106,400 tonnes from the same period last year.

KazMunaiGaz added it is planning to float up to 40% of its upstream subsidiary Kazmunaigas EP on a foreign stock market, possibly in London, and raise $2 billion through the offering later this year.

Oil shipments by its pipeline subsidiary KazTransOil rose 13.1% to 24.2 million tonnes in that period, the company said.
