TPAO teams up with Petrobras

By Upstream staff

Brazilian oil giant Petrobras and Turkish state oil company TPAO have signed deals covering the Kirklarelli and Sinop fields in the Black Sea.

Kirklarelli, in the western sector of the Black Sea, has average water depths of 1200 metres. Sinop, in the east, has water depths of about 2200 metres.

Petrobras told Brazilian news agency ANBA that the Turkish sector of the Black Sea is still underexplored, and is very prospective. The deal with TPAO will see the Brazilian giant help the company boost its production from the fields.
