Energy bosses top US pay scale

Energy company chief executives have taken top honours in the US pay stakes, according to a new report.



The list, covering last year's renumeration and compiled by independent research group The Corporate Library, has private equity outfit Blackstone Group boss Stephen Schwarzman in first place, with oil and gass chief executives taking seven of the top 10 spots.

Schwarzman, who took Blackstone Group last year, bumped Oracle Corporation's Larry Ellison into second place. They were followed by seven oil chief executives and Michael Jeffries, head of clothing retailer Abercrombie & Fitch.
