The Iraqi Oil Ministry will sign a final deal to develop the 12.9 billion barrel super giant West Qurna Phase Two oilfield with Russia's Lukoil and Norway's Statoil on 31 January, an Iraqi official said.



Sabah Abdul Kadhim, the head of the legal section of Iraq's Petroleum Contracts & Licensing Directorate, told reuters it would also sign final deals for the Badra field with a Gazprom-led group on 28 January and with a China National Petroleum Corporation-led group for Halfaya on 27 January.

"All remaining oil companies approved amendments we suggested for the draft contracts. The amendments focused on insurance, customs and arbitration issues," Kadhim told Reuters.
